Jillian has served in various research positions throughout her professional experience. She has researched sexual health education in Texas public high schools for Texas State Representative Jessica Farrar, as well as numerous Medicare legislative proposals as an intern for the US Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, Jillian conducted a year-long research project on Iraqi humanitarian-oriented NGOs within the context of American military occupation, which culminated in a senior honors thesis. Jillian engaged in dozens of interviews with Iraqi humanitarian workers, academics, and former American military personnel for this project.
Jillian graduated in 2015 from Wellesley College with a double major in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science. In addition to graduating cum laude, she was awarded departmental honors in Political Science, the Wellesley in Washington fellowship, and the Barnett Miller grant for Political Science honors students. Jillian also supplemented her education at Wellesley with a semester abroad at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan, where she adhered to an Arabic-only speaking policy.
Upon graduating from college, Jillian joined the Peace Corps as an Education Volunteer in Ethiopia. Living in a small town in the northwest region of the country, Jillian taught three sections of grade nine English, as well as co-facilitated gender and English clubs. In addition to living in Ethiopia and Jordan, she has also spent time in Morocco working for a local education and cultural center.
As a Junior Environmental, Health and Safety Associate for The Isosceles Group, Jillian will write regulatory update articles for both the Global Newsletter and Quarterly Report, update environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols, and research EHS laws and regulations in various countries.
