The panel includes three members of the U.S. Academy on Workplace Bullying, Mobbing and Abuse: David Yamada, a Professor of Law and founding Director of the New Workplace Institute at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Gary Namie, a social psychologist and North America’s foremost expert on Workplace Bullying, and Ellen Cobb, the author of Bullying, Violence, Harassment, Discrimination and Stress: Emerging Workplace Health and Safety Issues, an international review of legislation, compliance guidelines, and developments on workplace bullying. Members of the panel will examine new legal developments in workplace bullying laws and explore the significance of these changes for employee relations stakeholders, including executives, managers and human resources professionals. They will examine the impacts of workplace bullying laws on organizational policies and behaviors, including prevention and response, and will compare the status of U.S. workplace bullying legislation with workplace bullying laws enacted in other nations while assessing the future of workplace bullying legislation and the implications for companies, management and employees. Finally, they will discuss the key priorities in designing workplace policies in response to workplace bullying laws. “I have a huge amount of respect for David and Gary and their years of work in this field,” says Ms. Cobb. “Sharing our research, findings and observations with the audience at the International Conference on Occupational Stress and Health will not only advance the discussion around workplace bullying, but will allow us to have a broader understanding of the issues and concerns of those in the field and from other areas of expertise. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.” Work, Stress and Health Conference 2015: Sustainable Work, Sustainable Health, Sustainable Organizations, will be held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, May 6-9, 2015, Atlanta, Georgia.
