The European Union issued Draft Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) amending Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the entry for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid and its derivatives (PFOS). ​The Conference of the Parties decided to amend the acceptable purpose for the use of PFOS, its salts and PFOSF for metal plating (hard metal plating) only in closed-loop systems to a specific exemption. To reflect this decision, the Draft amends Part A of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 for PFOS.
 
The effect of the amendment allows Parties to use the referenced exemption for a maximum period of five years after the entry into force date. The exemption may be extended for additional five years following a decision by the Conference of the Parties, upon request by a Party, and based on a justification of the continuing need for that use. The Draft Regulation would enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication. The feedback period ended December 27, 2019.

China issued a consultation on the Technical Specifications for Pollution Control of Waste Lead Storage Batteries (Draft for Comment), revising the Technical Specifications for Waste Lead Acid Battery Treatment Pollution Control.
The draft intends to regulate the pollution from the collection, storage, transportation, utilization and disposal of waste lead batteries, and prevent the pollution of waste lead batteries. Public feedback was due by November 12, 2019.

- high visibility warning clothing for protective clothing occupation;
​- protective clothing flame retardant clothing; and 
- foot protection safety shoes.

The drafts strengthen the standardization and revision of personal protective equipment standards and further improve the level of safety production and security. Public comments must be submitted by November 27, 2019.
