On January 31, 2020, the UK’s Parliament ratified the withdrawal agreement and the UK officially left the EU. After this exit day, the 11-month implementation period began. During this period, which ends on December 31, 2020, the UK will continue to follow EU rules, and trading will remain unaltered. Also during this period, the UK and the EU will attempt to reach an agreement on trade. This includes items such as REACH regimes, etc. Fundamental differences have already emerged on both sides based on statements made by Johnson shortly after the January 31 exit. The European Union issued Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1390 of 31 July 2019 amending, for the purpose of its adaptation to technical progress, the Annex to Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 laying down test methods pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). In order to reduce the number of animals used for experimental purposes, two new test methods for the assessment of ecotoxicity and nine new test methods for the determination of toxicity to human health were laid down. seven test methods were updated.
