In September 2019, India issued G.S.R. 651(E) – Draft Rules – Lead Stabilizer Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pipes and Fittings Rule 2019.
This rule required that every manufacturer comply with the limits of the lead extraction and marketing requirements, such as ensuring durability and legibility of the embossment up to the life of the PVC pipes and fittings. The rules went into effect on the day of their publication in the Official Gazette.
