China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment Issues Ban on the Manufacture and Circulation of Persistent Organic Pollutants
China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment, in conjunction with a number of the country's other agencies, announced a ban on the production, distribution, use, import, and export of lindane and persistent organic pollutants. The ban serves to implement the requirements of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. The ban has a direct effect on the management of lindane, endosulfan, perfluorooctane sulfonic acid and its salts, and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride.
